When using other materials in an assignment, it is important to distinguish how much of your ideas are your own and how much of them are someone else's. Submission and evaluation rules are different for each university and course, so check the syllabus and academic information first. Study in Korea's school type guide is a resource for course navigation, and the writing procedures below are suggestions to help you study.
Read assignment instructions
Indicate topic, length, submission format and deadline. Make sure it is an individual assignment, whether collaboration is allowed, and whether the references are formatted. If you're not clear about the extent to which translation tools or generative AI use is permitted and how to indicate it, we recommend asking your instructor before submitting.
When to use materials
Record the source's title, author or institution, link, and location of confirmation. Distinguish between taking the sentence verbatim and summarizing it in your own words, and indicate any necessary citations. The translated sentences are also from the original material, so they are not written as if they were your own experiences. Please do not create references that do not exist or statistics that you have not verified.
Review before submission
Make sure the claims are supported and that you actually read the cited material. Even if the tool has polished your sentences, reexamine anything you can't explain. Archive the submission completion screen and check whether the file opens. If it's a team assignment, it's a good idea to check the roles and final copy together and avoid submitting under someone else's name without permission.
