Since university admission screening and visa screening have different purposes, you must also check the required documents for each. Study in Korea's student visa guide provides proof items such as academic background and finances, as well as confirmation of additional documents depending on the country and course. Submitting documents to the school does not automatically prepare the original documents for visa application.
Create two lists
Separately write down the list of submissions for the school's application guidelines and the visa document list of the embassy or consulate where you will apply. For each document, please indicate whether it is an original or a copy, language, authentication method, issuance date conditions, and number of copies required. Even if the document has the same name, check whether the format required by the receiving institution is different.
Information consistency check
Check if the passport name, date of birth, school name, and graduation date match on each document. If there is a change in the name spelling, please contact the submission office to see what explanation or proof is needed. Check translation, notarization, apostille, etc. according to the conditions of your issuing country and submission destination, and do not assume that the same method is required for all documents.
Submission and Storage
Keep a readable copy before submitting and include the document type and issue date in the file name. It is recommended not to post documents containing personal information on public sharing links. When you receive a request for supplementation, determine exactly what items are missing and submit it with your receipt number. Checking the current requirements before spending money on issuance can reduce unnecessary reissues.
