When visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, distinguish ordinary admission from special or evening programs: their dates and booking methods may differ. The official palace notice checked on September 9, 2026 states that access to the raised stone platform (woldae) around Geunjeongjeon Hall is restricted from September 2 to October 31. This concerns the platform, not a closure of the entire palace. Check access to the specific area you want to visit as well as general admission.
Order before visit
Check the official page for closing days, viewing hours, admission deadlines, and special operation notices. Don't assume you can participate on the day just by watching the event introduction video. If a program requires a reservation, you must check your date, number of people, eligibility conditions, and reservation completion status.
