When visiting the National Museum of Korea, do not assume that permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions, and children's spaces have the same admission conditions. Check the official exhibition guide for information on each space and exhibition. Operating periods, reservations, and fee conditions may vary for each exhibition, so it is necessary to read the page that suits the purpose of your visit separately.
One visit goal
We suggest choosing a period, material, or topic of interest. Comparing the shapes of pottery, for example, or looking into the decoration of metal crafts gives you a reason to read the exhibition descriptions. Rather than trying to visit every showroom in a short amount of time, plan your itinerary to include breaks and travel.
Connect to learning Korean
Instead of writing too many new words in your description of your work, pick a few expressions you want to remember. After viewing, you can briefly write down your impressions, such as “What caught my eye about this work was…” Rather than copying and sharing the entire work description, it is better to distinguish between your own observations and sources.
Reservation and on-site confirmation
For special exhibitions, check reservation status, admission deadline, and cancellation conditions by date. If you need luggage storage, use of a stroller or wheelchair, or assistance with transportation, please check the conditions in the official tour guide. Photography availability follows the indications for each exhibition room. There may be exhibition changes or temporary closures, so if you really want to see a specific work, it is best to check the exhibition status on the day of your visit first.
