When looking for a job, don't judge whether or not you can get the job just by saying "Foreigners accepted." You must check your status of residence, the actual work you will do, your place of work, and any necessary permit conditions. Seoul City's employment preparation guide introduces employment confirmation based on qualifications and public job search routes. Even if your school or employer says it's okay, it's a good idea to check separately to make sure the necessary immigration formalities have been completed.
Pre-Application Checklist
Write down the company name, place of work, job title, working hours, salary standard, and employment type in the announcement. Check with 1345 or your jurisdiction's guidance to see if there is a work permit or change procedure you need. There are separate conditions for part-time employment for students, so do not judge based on general job search guidance alone.
How to read the announcement
The expressions “negotiated,” “probationary,” and “based on performance” are signals to ask for specific amounts and time frames. Check whether the actual work may differ from what is advertised, whether moving to a different workplace, or deducting accommodation costs, etc. If you leave a text message or email explaining what you understood, it will be easy to compare after the interview.
When sending documents
Submit only the necessary information at the initial application stage, and respond carefully to requests for unnecessary information, such as your entire resident or alien registration number or bank account password. If you are asked to deposit a large amount of money first as a condition of employment, check the facts with official contact information. Availability of employment, working conditions, and actual hiring are different issues, so please check each before setting a work start date.
